The Powerball prize is expected to reach $750 million, while the Mega Millions jackpot is approaching $1 billion.
The Powerball, a popular lottery game in America, has been active all year and its jackpot is now reaching an impressive $800 million. This amount is expected to be the grand prize for the upcoming drawing, making it the ninth largest in Powerball’s history.
The Powerball grand prize increased significantly after remaining untouched for almost three months. The most recent winner of the Powerball jackpot was at the start of the current year. With an estimated total of $750 million, the jackpot’s cash option is a substantial $357.3 million.
On January 1, 2024, a Powerball jackpot of $842.4 million was awarded, making it the fifth largest prize in the history of the game. This was surpassed only by the fourth largest jackpot, worth $1.08 billion, which was won in July by a fortunate player from California.
In January 2016, the third-highest grand prize of $1.59 billion was claimed. Then, on October 11, 2023 in California, the second-largest jackpot of $1.77 billion was won by a fortunate lottery player who correctly guessed all the winning numbers. However, the biggest jackpot in the game was an astounding $2.04 billion, which was won in November 2022 and remains unbeatable.
Unfortunately, no one claimed the grand prize in Wednesday night’s Powerball drawing, which yielded the following numbers: 13, 22, 27, 54, 66 for the white balls and 9 for the red Powerball. Additionally, there were no winners of the one million dollar second-place prize from this particular drawing.
Fortunately, 27 individuals who played the lottery were able to correctly guess four white balls and the red Powerball, earning a prize of $50,000 each. Additionally, six winners received a Power Play prize of $100,000 each.

The Grand Prize for Mega Millions is inching closer to reaching $1 billion.
Like Powerball, the prize for Mega Millions also keeps growing. After surviving Tuesday’s drawing, the grand prize is now inching closer to an incredible $1 billion. Mega Millions has estimated that the upcoming drawing will have a jackpot of $977 million. This amount is truly staggering, but the cash option is also an impressive $461.0 million.
In contrast to Powerball, four fortunate individuals won prizes in the millions from Mega Millions’ most recent drawing. These four lottery enthusiasts each received a $1 million prize for correctly predicting five of the white numbers drawn.
The upcoming Mega Millions drawing will take place on Friday, March 22, 2024 at 11 PM ET.
