Safer Gambling Week to Kick Off on November 18, EGBA Confirms
The European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) has announced the official dates for this year’s European Safer Gambling Week, an industry event that celebrates and promotes responsible gambling.
According to the association’s official announcement, this year’s European Safer Gambling Week will take place from November 18 to November 24, 2024. Companies within the industry are invited to demonstrate their commitment to protecting players from harm and joining the ongoing safer gambling discussions.
Safer Gambling Week is an initiative that seeks to raise awareness of the importance of safer gambling to sustainability. Organized by the EGBA, the annual campaign serves as a platform for commenting on the matter of responsible gambling, sharing best regulatory and business practices and signposting resources and services. Safer Gambling Week is therefore an opportunity for operators, regulators, support organizations and experts to engage in productive discussions.
Companies that are interested in signing up for European Safer Gambling Week 2024 should contact the EGBA and fill in its official form. Following that, participants will receive regular updates on how to get involved in the campaign.
Haijer Says Safety Is a Collective Effort
Maarten Haijer, EGBA’s secretary general, commented on the importance of Safer Gambling Week. He said that his team is glad to announce the dates for the event and added that he is looking forward to impacting the European industry positively.
The initiative is an important part of EGBA’s commitment to raising awareness about safer gambling and fostering a strong culture of player protection in Europe.

Speaking of the EGBA, the association recently expressed support for the European Union’s new digital ID laws. The new framework, approved by the European Parliament on February 29, would introduce a standardized European Digital Identity process for citizens and businesses in EU member states.
