Experienced Media Executive Jordan Gnat Joins Dreamcraft Ventures

Jordan Gnat, a sports media and gaming executive, has joined Dreamcraft Ventures as a limited partner. This marks an important step in Dreamcraft’s growth as part of the Venture Partner Network, which invests in early-stage startups that are typically at the pre-seed or seed stage in B2B SaaS, Digital Entertainment and FinTech sectors.

Gnat brings with him more than 20 years of experience having held senior roles at Playmaker Capital, The Stars Group (FOX Bet) and Scientific Games. He has built and scaled digital media businesses, structured strategic partnerships, and navigated complex gaming industry regulatory environments.

Previously, Gnat founded Playmaker Capital – a digital sports media company designed to integrate fan-centric media brands into a unique ecosystem that connects sports fans with operators, advertisers and leagues. In 2023 it was acquired by Better Collective for €176 million ($188 million) where he now serves as Chair of the Americas Advisory Board.

Since being founded in 2019 by Jesper Søgaard and Christian Kirk Rasmussen, Dreamcraft Ventures has rapidly become one of the most active venture capital firms investing across Europe with particular focus on the Nordics. The recent announcement of its €66 million ($70.5 million) Fund II closing demonstrates its commitment to supporting early-stage innovation.

Gnat Excited to Collaborate with Dreamcraft Ventures, Citing Team’s Discipline and Skill

Commenting on his decision to join Dreamcraft Ventures Gnat said: “I have known Jesper and Christian for over 5 years and they introduced me to the Dreamcraft team and I have been incredibly impressed with their process, discipline and skill set. The opportunity to work closely with Carsten, Daniel, the team and portfolio companies is very exciting. I look forward to introducing new opportunities to the Dreamcraft team and working with incredible entrepreneurs as a Venture Partner.”

In this capacity, Gnat will use his industry knowledge and vast network to identify high-potential startups for investment consideration while also helping guide companies through various stages of growth as well as providing valuable mentorship with all his activities aimed at fostering success within Dreamcraft’s portfolio companies.

Digital Entertainment is set to become an even stronger vertical for Dreamcraft Ventures with the addition of Gnat who could be seen as one of Canada’s most influential media executives. The team behind the creation of this venture capital firm has proven time and again that they are willing to take risks on companies operating within emerging sectors that may not have been considered by other investors elsewhere – thus further solidifying their position as leaders in backing next-generation game-changing startups.
